Theresultsshowthatthefull-lengthsequenceofAPis1515bpandcontainsanORFencoding504aminoacidswithapredictedmolecularmassof55.5kDa. TheaverageGCcontentofthecodingregionis43.8% andtheproportionofhydrophobicaminoacidis47.6%. Thenitratetransporterispredictedtopossess12transmembranedomains (Tm), withthemembranetopologysimilartoNRT2family. SomehighlyconservedregionsoftheNRT2transportersarefound. Inaddition, homologysearchshows75% to89% similaritiestoothermarinecyanobacteriabelongingtoNRT2familyattheproteinleve1. Molecularphyloge-netictreeswerereconstructedusingthemethodsofNeighbor-joining (NJ),ugg stivali, MaximumParsimony (MP) andMaximumLikelihood (ML).
