Payment for flood victims in the upper part of the country will be allocated this month, said deputy prime minister on Friday.
Deputy Prime Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey said payment of the 5, 000 baht (167 U.S. dollars) per household relief for 630,000 households in the north, northeastern and central provinces of the country is expected to be completed this month, Bangkok Post online reported.
Sathit, chairman of the committee following up assistance for flood victims, said of the 630,000 households affected Tiffany Jewelry, 520,000 had been verified and payment was under way.
The relief money was expected to reach all of them by the end of November.
As for the South where about 370 Wedding dresses,000 households were believed to have been hit by floods, Sathit said he had instructed officials to step up preparation of lists of those affected in each locality so that the relief money can be paid throughout the country as soon as possible.
The House committee on prevention and suppression of corruption yesterday said it had received complaints of irregularities on the payment of the relief money and will investigate.
Heavy flood Tiffany, caused by a combination of heavy rainfall and water released from overloaded reservoirs, has hit Thailand since October 10 especially in the Northeast and the South.
