e you've heard this 1 million times, but it's critical to take care of your teeth. If you regularly visit the dentist then you probably don't need to read this. But the number of people who do not visit a dentist at least once every six months is truly alarming. But as you look at oral hygiene from a high-level, the big ones are keeping your teeth from having deep cavities and watching out for long-term gum diseases. Cavities come from sugars and other bacteria that degrade the tooth and create pits. As the pets get bigger, they can cause pain and structural problems to the tooth. To avoid cavities the prescription is simple, brush your teeth after every meal. Your dentist would love you if you took a toothbrush to work and used fluoride-based toothpaste after eating lunch. However, most people don't do this. And most dentists would agree that brushing twice a day is probably sufficient.
Gum disease is a trickier issue. This develops much more slowly over time as the gum recedes away from the teeth do to several types of disease. This can cause structural problems as well as discomfort if left unchecked. The best defence against gum disease is to floss every day. Flossing serves two purposes for your teeth. Is your dentist will remind you at every visit, losing removes food from between the teeth but brushes can't get to. The flossing also helps stimulate growth in the dentine. The agitation between your teeth helps your gums to come active and regenerate.
In summary, we all know we need to take better care of our teeth and visit our dentist regularly. But for some people the idea of seeing your dentist is just too scary and they just put it off. Those visits to the doctor are very easy to procrastinate. But I would urge you not to do that. Think through the consequences of poor daily teeth hygiene and change your behaviours before it's too late. Are your trips to the dentist will be much less pleasant than they are today?
