Judges seemed to look for authenticity, costume construction, attention to detail, and creativity when awarding prizes. <br />Star Trek Events at MegaCon <br />The three-day MegaCon <a href="http://www.givekicks.com/nike_air_max/nike_air_max_" target="_blank">Air Max Lebron Vii</a>, held March 12-14 <a href="http://www.givekicks.com/nike_air_jordan/jordan_spizike_shoes" target="_blank">jordans spizike</a>, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, offered video gaming, an exhibit hall, and all-things animation. This year, however, included a specific emphasis on <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> in preparation for Walt Disney World&rsquo;s upcoming <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> Weekends (May and June 2010), <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> Celebration V (August 12-15, 2010), and <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> in Concert, all of which will be held this summer in the Orlando area. <br />In her session, Nichols recounted how she auditioned for the role of Lt. Uhura on the original <span style="font-style: italic">Star Trek</span> series and how she helped name her character based on a book about Africa that she had been reading at the time. She noted that she read the role of Spock, even though Leonard Nemoy had already been cast, because the communications officer part was still unwritten and unnamed. In answer to a question about which episodes she most enjoyed filming, Nichols said that “Plato&rsquo;s Children” and “Trouble With Tribbles” were among her favorites. <br />Other related events included panels on <span style="font-style: italic">Clone Wars</span>, “Learn how to draw your favorite <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> characters&rsquo; with artists Jason Sobol, Rhi Owens, and James “Bukshot” Bukauskas, The Wacky World of Star Wars Collecting, and “A Long Time Ago&hellip;<span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span>: The Eighties Strike Back” musical singalong. <br />Star Wars Events at MegaCon <br />At the panel, “Celebrating Star Wars <a href="http://www.givekicks.com/nike_air_max/nike_air_max_95" target="_blank">nike air max 95</a>,” Lucafilm&rsquo;s head of fan relations, Steve Sansweet showed film clips and talked about the past, present, and future of <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span>, including the weekly animated series <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars: The Clone Wars</span> and the upcoming <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> Celebration V. He also previewed <span style="font-style: italic">Star Wars</span> in Concert, a touring musical show that kicks off its United States performances in May, also in Florida. <br />Costume Contest at MegaCon <br /><span style="font-style: italic">Star Trek</span> fans may have been overshadowed by George Lucas aficionados, but certainly not shut out of MegaCon, which is one of the Southeast&rsquo;s largest fan conventions, with more than 30,000 fans, vendors, gamers, and guests from all over the world attending each year. <span style="font-style: italic">Star Trek</span> celebrities provided question-and-answer sessions and autograph signings in the exhibit hall. <br />Guests from <span style="font-style: italic">Star Trek</span> included Nichelle Nichols, Brent Spiner, Robert Picardo, Levar Burton, and John De Lancie. Costumed characters Bulloch, de Aragon, and Mahew agreed that sometimes it&rsquo;s just fitting into the costume that gets actors the job.
