Post subject: nike shox oz 2 Spartacus Blood and Sand vs the Rea
In the year 73 Spartacus, Crixus, and Oenomaus (with the aid of at least two Germans

, among others) used kitchen knives and roasting spits to effect an escape from their ludus to lead a slave revolt, known as the Third Servile War or the Gladiator War, against the Roman empire. The revolt lasted until the defeat of Spartacus' gladiator army in 71 at the hands of Roman generals Pompey and Crassus. Prior to their ultimate defeat and death, Spartacus and Crixus achieved victories over several Roman militias and freshly recruited Roman legions. One such militia was led by Claudius Glaber.
Another difference occurs during the escape scenes. In the show, Spartacus and Crixus begin their revolt using weapons provided them during a match between the two

, instead of the knives and spits used in history.
Spartacus: Vengeance (Spartacus: Blood and Sand Season 2) is scheduled to begin production as soon as star Andy Whitfield has sufficiently recovered from his cancer treatments, and all
The story of Spartacus (played by Andy Whitfield) in Blood and Sand portrays him as a Thracian who served in the Roman Auxilia (which may or not be true) until a disagreement with Claudius Glaber lead him and his companions to desert the Auxilia. Claudius Glaber then captures Spartacus and his wife, Sura. Glaber attempts to have Spartacus executed in the arena and sells Sura as a slave to a Syrian. Spartacus triumphs over his four executioners and is subsequently purchased by Batiatus and placed in his ludus in Capua, where he is to be trained as a gladiator. In this ludus, Spartacus continuously schemes to be reunited with Sura, but constantly finds himself at odds with the reigning Champion of Capua, the gladiator known as Crixus. The "doctore", or gladiator instructor, of the ludus is Oenomaus, who along with Crixus is one of the leaders of the historical Spartacus' revolt.

To date, Blood and Sand has used the known facts of Spartacus' life to weave an excellent telling of the story of Spartacus - even going to such detail as having Sura reveal a portent involving snakes. By some accounts, Spartacus did indeed have a seeress for a wife. In her article "SPARTACUS Rebel With a Cause" in the July, 2009 issue of Calliope, Ellen Seiden quotes Plutarch (C.E. 46-C. 120) as saying "a snake was seen coiled round his head while he was asleep and his wife… a prophetess… declared that this sign meant that he would have a great and terrible power which would end in misfortune."
Spartacus: Blood and Sand has developed a cult following on Starz and Netflix. But how well does the Spartacus show compare to the true history of Spartacus the gladiator?
The Historical Spartacus
According to currently accepted knowledge, the historical Spartacus was born in Thrace
Nike Shox Turbo oz
, a region of Europe comprised of parts of modern-day Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey. At some point Spartacus became a slave and lived in a ludus (Roman gladiator school) in Capua. This ludus was owned by Gnaeus Cornelius Lentalus Batiatus (or Vatia).
Of course, there are some expected differences between history and Blood and Sand. For example, there is little or no evidence that Spartacus was originally driven by a desire to save his wife from a Syrian slave owner. By some accounts (Plutarch, for one) Spartacus' wife was imprisoned with him at the ludus, but these minor differences are easily forgiven.
