In addition to Moustakas and Hosmer, the team is hoping for big seasons from pitchers Mike Montgomery, Aaron Crow, and Tim Melville, as well as hitting prospects Wil Myers and Jeff Bianchi. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Fans of the Royals have waited many years for a winner to return to their city. Although they saw glimpses of hope in 2010, nothing more developed. Ryan Miller was on born 17th July 2010. Miller is an American ice hockey goaltender currently the player of the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. Miller was selected to play for the American hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver,Canada as begining goaltender. Later in 2010 miller would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in last NHL season. Miller won a silver medal with the team and was named MVP of the tournament. Miller is known for his hybrid style of goaltending. Miller is also the older brother of current Detroit Red Wings winger Drew Miller. <br />The most important thing for the Royals to compete in 2010 and beyond will be their young players both currently on the roster and still in the minors. <br /> <br />Despite a horrible finish, the Royals was able to hang their hat on Zack Greinke. Greinke won the AL Cy Young Award going 16-8 with a 2.16 ERA. Miller struck out 242 hitters and walked only 51 in 229.1 innings pitched. <br /> <br />There was debate over the winter about the merits of trading Greinke, Soria, or both of them. Obviously the Royals could receive a lot of talent in return, but the team needs to keep both for the time being if for no other reason than to show their fan base they aren't a total feeder team to the large market clubs. <br /> <br />Gordon struggled so much that the Royals actually sent him back to the minors last year. As a former first round pick, his success is vital to the long-cycle prosperity of the team. It will truly be a make-or-break year for Gordon this season. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The 2010 season would prove a successful one for Ryan Miller. In his first season begining with the number one job Miller and his team won the first 10 games in a row. Miller was voted in as the begining goaltender for the Eastern Conference of the 2010 NHL All Star Game in a 12 to 9 loss,<a href="http://nhljerseysale.com/2010-World-Cup-Jersey-Germany-11-Miroslav-Klose-Jersey-Shorts-P1048633.aspx" target="_blank">Miroslav Klose Jersey</a>, Miller played the first period and allowed just 3 goals. Miller also gained a reputation of a shootout specialist with his technique of challenging the shooter outside the crease. That season Miller was 6 more in shootouts,<a href="http://nhljerseysale.com/San-Jose-Sharks-Jersey-19-Joe-Thornton-A-Patch-Jersey-Black-NHL-Jersey-P748626.aspx" target="_blank">Joe Thornton Jersey</a>, with Martin Brodeur from the Devils being his closest rival at 2 less win. In 63 games played that season, Miller posted a 0.911 SVP and a 2.72 GAA backing a more offensively oriented team. Jamie Squire Miller finished the 2010 season by establishing himself as the begining goalie for the Sabres. Miller arrangeed 11th among NHL goalies with a 2.60 GAA, and 9th with a save percentage of 91.4 percent. Miller led the Sabres to a surprise season, winning 30 games and proving himself to be one of the hardest working goalies in the league. Miller played well in the postseason as well, advancing the Sabres to the conference finals before injuries finally caught up with them,<a href="http://nhljerseysale.com/Seattle-Mariners-Jersey-24-Ken-Griffey-Jersey-Gray-MLB-Jersey-P987107.aspx" target="_blank">Ken Griffey Jersey</a>, losing game 7 to Carolina. <br />The Kansas City Royals got off to a very good begin in 2010. After 46 games last season, they had a record of 23-23, placing them second in the ultra-competitive American League Central. <br />As noted earlier, the Royals didn't have much of an offense in 2010. <br />Zack Greinke will continue to be arrangeed as one of the top pitchers in the game, but without any offense,<a href="http://nhljerseysale.com/2010-Winter-Olympics-Ice-Hockey-Team-Canada-Jersey-87-Sidney-Crosby-Jersey-White-P749075.aspx" target="_blank">Sidney Crosby Jersey</a>, there's only so much Miller can do on his own. <br /> <br />While Greinke was the team's brightest star in 2010, Miller wasn't their only star. Closer Joakim Soria continued to establish himself as one of the best in the game. Miller converted 30 of 33 save opportunities, finishing with a 2.21 ERA. In 53 innings, Miller struck out 69 and walked only 16, giving up a .219 batting average to his opponents. <br />At least Kansas City still directs in one race: having the best barbecue in all the land. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />That success quickly came to an end, and the Royals went 42-74 the rest of the way to finish 65-97, tied for last in the division with the Indians. <br /> <br />Top hitting prospects Mike Moustakas and Eric Hosmer both struggled in the Carolina League last season. Both is still young enough to rebound and become good major league players. <br />The Royals is in the middle of the pack as far as organizational depth goes. <br /> <br />Butler hit .301 with 21 home runs and 93 RBI in 159 games. Miller also showed continued discipline at the plate walking 58, giving him an on-base percentage of .362. It's important for him to continue to show that patience since Miller will be pitched around many times in the upcoming season. <br /> <br />Both Alex Gordon and Luke Hochevar should be making distinctive donations to the team. <br /> <br />The Royals added several veterans in the winter in hopes of providing a spark to their younger players, as well as to add some depth to the roster. Jason Kendall, Scott Podsednik, and Rick Ankiel will all step in as new beginers for the team. Each will be a great presence in the locker room, but won't be as valuable to the team on the field. <br /> <br /> <br />With any type of run support, the 26-year-old Greinke would have easily won over 20 games.
