shox turbo shoes9Book Review – Nine Stories by JD |

Occasionally, They are Great
The curious, idiosyncratic humor and intellect of a post-war society loom over these mid-century stories, working apt their advantage sometimes (A Perfect Day For Bananafish and the ten-pages-too-long De Damier-Smiths Blue Period), yet primarily just dating them and making the outcomes and overall stories seem uneventful (Uncle Wiggly In Connecticut, Just Before the War With the Eskimos) alternatively even worse pointless (Down by the Dinghy).
Occasionally, they are magnificent, for a story favor The Laughing Man follows what seems to be a typical Salinger technique of someone effective someone elses fable (or telling it in such a access that its really theirs [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], playing with connections between the symbols and the story being told). Its definitely the smartest and maximum carefully crafted story in the collection [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], along with For EsmeWith Love and Squalor.
The problem with J.D. Salinger’s Nine Stories (Little Brown, ISBN: 0316767727, 1953) has nothing to do with the stories no being well-written. Theyre very well-written, solid pieces of writing that shirk always problems, important or inferior. Salingers voice is entirely developed, making the stories highly readable. Thats not to say the stories are great, though.

Book Review
Both stories use orthodox storytelling to tell their anecdotes [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is clever. Its how The Laughing Man goes from paralleling a break-up and a crimefighter to paralleling both of those entities with a move from the naivete of childhood. Its how For Esme works from a cute Audrey Hepburn type story into someone many darker and lovesick, if I were you a bit too melodramatic.
