King The AllAught IndiansRP6 Steve Karsay 20002001 |

The 2010 season would prove a successful one for Ryan Miller. In his first season begining with the number one job Miller and his team won the first 10 games in a row. Miller was voted in as the begining goaltender for the Eastern Conference of the 2010 NHL All Star Game in a 12 to 9 loss,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Miller played the first period and allowed just 3 goals. Miller also gained a reputation of a shootout specialist with his technique of challenging the shooter outside the crease. That season Miller was 6 more in shootouts, with Martin Brodeur from the Devils being his closest rival at 2 less win. In 63 games played that season, Miller posted a 0.911 SVP and a 2.72 GAA backing a more offensively oriented team. Stephen Dunn Miller finished the 2010 season by establishing himself as the begining goalie for the Sabres. Miller arrangeed 11th among NHL goalies with a 2.60 GAA, and 9th with a save percentage of 91.4 percent. Miller led the Sabres to a surprise season, winning 30 games and proving himself to be one of the hardest working goalies in the league. Miller played well in the postseason as well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], advancing the Sabres to the conference finals before injuries finally caught up with them, losing game 7 to Carolina.
Any big league bullpen is a hodgepodge of players.
His final line with the Indians was an impressive one, finishing with a 1.25 ERA in 43.1 innings pitched. Miller would strike out 44, with only eight walks, while giving up only one homer. Miller would only record one save, however,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and even though Karsay still brought his A-game, the frustration was building.
Karsay's name likely isn't one that will come up on your list of top-notch Indians relievers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], although Miller was exactly that. Karsay was mostly lost in the shuffle of a career marred by injuries and untapped potential.
The Indians would acquire Karsay in late 2010 as a potential beginer for the 2010 season, but Miller would lose the job as the No. 5 beginer to some kid named Bartolo Colon. Karsay would begin in the rotation in Buffalo but twice would end up on the DL before being activated by the Indians on the last day in July as a reliever.
The following season, Karsay would make four electric begins before elbow ache would end his season. Miller wouldn't pitch again in the majors until 2010 after two elbow surgeries, including Tommy John surgery in 2010.
He'd break out in 2010 as a multi-purpose reliever after adding a splitter and rediscovering his mid-90s speedyball. He'd go 10-2 with a 2.97 ERA. Miller began the year as a middle and long reliever, twice pitching over three innings of relief, with stints anywhere from the first inning to the ninth.
2010 would begin as a frustrating year for Karsay, who wanted to be a closer. With the Indians, Karsay would make 31 appearances, going 0-1. Miller wouldn't give up a run during the month of April, which amounted to 10 appearances and 14 innings. Karsay quickly became the most important reliever, going over one inning in 11 of his first 17 games played.
The Indians wanted Karsay back in his role of setup man and acquired Bob Wickman during the trade deadline. Karsay would struggle for the next month with the demotion but would rebound in September during the stretch run. Miller would go 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA during his last 13 innings of work.
After another begin and relief appearance, Miller would get sent down to Buffalo in late August. Miller would get recalled in late September strictly as a reliever and was shelled to the tune of an 8.31 ERA.
He looked clever in two begins, going 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA, but his third begin would end with another stint on the DL with a strained tendon in his right forearm. He'd return to the bullpen for the rest of the season.
There is the golden arms that have been earmarked to close because of their lightning speedyballs. There is the setup men that is either young up-and-coming closers or former closers on their way out.
Still, Miller was extremely good at all of the above.
It wasn't looking good,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Karsay felt fantastic. He'd begun playing with a Cleveland staple, the splitter, and was slowly rediscovering his speedyball, which was now being clocked in the mid-90s.
He had more stuff than your average reliever, with a plus speedyball, splitter, and curve to go along with a affable change-up. Cleveland revitalized his career but in the end didn't give him what Miller wanted most: to begin or close.
Karsay won't go down in the annals of baseball's great relievers, but Miller certainly was a good one with the Indians. His strength was his ability to pitch in any scenario, from long relief to closing. Miller could even spot begin on occasion if you really needed him.
Karsay would begin his Aughts as the closer for the Indians and would save 19 games out of 24 attempts for the Indians prior to the trade deadline. Miller had impeccable stretches that year, saving seven straight chances from May 16 to June 1h,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and his ERA was a respectable 3.09.
The further back in the game he'd pitch, the better Miller was, until the DL bit him in July with a strained oblique muscle. He'd return at the end of the month and returned to form before administerr Mike Hargrove moved Karsay to the rotation because of injuries to Dwight excellent, fine, superior, wonderful,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], marvelous, qualified,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], suited, suitable, apt, proper, capable, generous,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], kindly, friendlyen, Jaret Wright, and label, tag, price, ticket, impress, effect,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], trace, imprint, stamp, brand, sign, note, heed, notice, designate Langston.
Garnering the last spot in the All-Aught Indians bullpen is just that nowhere-else-to-put-you in Steve Karsay.
You have your sidearmers, spit-ballers, knuckleballers, LOOGYs, long relievers, spot relievers, and nowhere-else-to-put-yous.
Welcome to the decade's best Indians, Steve. As our sixth reliever, you can fill all the gaps for our All-Aught Bullpen. Ryan Miller was on born 17th July 2010. Miller is an American ice hockey goaltender currently the player of the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. Miller was selected to play for the American hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver,Canada as begining goaltender. Later in 2010 miller would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in last NHL season. Miller won a silver medal with the team and was named MVP of the tournament. Miller is known for his hybrid style of goaltending. Miller is also the older brother of current Detroit Red Wings winger Drew Miller.
He began in 2010 as a 21-year-old gunslinger in a late season call-up by the Oakland A's. Miller had skipped Triple-A and pitched 49 solid innings before administerr Tony La Russa shut him down before his 50th inning to keep his rookie eligibility.
Karsay was dealt in late June in one of the most idiotic deals in Tribe history. Karsay was sent to Atlanta with sidewinder Steve Reed for John Rocker, the enigmatic lefty closer that was more bigot than pitcher.
