whisky ‘map’ divides Scotland into a digit of regions where the general specifics of each of the distilled whiskies is similar. Fine Scotch whiskies are distilled in every of these regions:-
o - Highland
o - Speyside
o - Islay
o - Campbeltown
o - Lowland
Some of these zones have immediately been divided into sub categories alternatively regions deserving to the size of the districts. In quite general terms the areas to the west of Scotland have extra areas of peat and for such numerous of the whiskies distilled in the areas have the ‘taste of peat’. This particularly true of Islay (a district in itself) where in excess of 20% of the isle namely peat.
The greater Speyside [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in the North East of Scotland [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], houses more than half of entire the distilleries in Scotland and two of the maximum outstanding and well know unattached malt whiskies are from Speyside distilleries
