MLB NFL 2010 Season Packers Enter the Season With |
|
With the arsenal of weapons at Rodger's disposal, the Packers will definitely get a chance to host the NFC Championship game.
The final conclusion? An astounding 23 have the Packers going to the Superbowl.
Brett Favre, who (regardless of what we keep thinking) seems to always come back stronger.
With the division title and the numbers this kid puts up, he will certainly be holding the MVP trophy at the end of the season.
My point being,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Packers have created a target on their back.
Now realistically, it's possible they may not make the trip to Dallas. But realistically, with the talent and leadership this team has, they will certainly win back the division and Aaron Rodgers will win his first playoff game.
With the all hype and hoopla,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Packers high expectations will take them to the Superbowl.
Think about the collection of talent the NFL boasts:
And there are even those teams who already think they are the Superbowl Champions, even though they were handed a wildcard spot by Indy electing to rest their starters down the stretch of the 2009 regular season.
Even worse, what happens to McCarthy if they Packers fail to post a playoff win? What will be said of Rodgers if the Packers fail to make the postseason? It's scary to think about as a Packer fan.
Even more so, 16 of 25 analysts predicted Aaron Rodgers to be crowned the NFL MVP this upcoming season.
Now there are those Green Bay Packers, whom most would put into that Superbowl or bust category, but they have somehow created something more—not only the expectations they have for themselves (which is fair enough), after all no team should ever be playing for anything less than the Superbowl.
As usual,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there are those teams which would consider it a success to just be on a field in January; there are those that need to make the playoffs to make their season seem a relevant success.
Drew Brees,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who may be the best quarterback in the NFL today and is yet to win the coveted award.
But what if? NFL players occasionally will petition the NFL to allow them to wear a number that is not in line with the numbering system. Brad Van Pelt who is a linebacker who entered the NFL in 1973 with the New York Giants, wore number 10 during his 11 seasons with the club despite not being covered by the grandfather clause. New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush petitioned the NFL to let him keep the number 5 which he used at USC in 2006 but was later denied.
Tom Brady, looking like he's back to full strength.
Then there are those teams who feel it's Superbowl or bust: namely the two teams who went to the Superbowl last year.
Peyton Manning,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who just about wins it every year.
The issue I have is with the hype: In the past week, many predictions have surfaced and everyone will have their own opinion. I reviewed 25 NFL analysts predictions from NFL.com,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], ESPN.com, SportsIllustrated.com, and FoxSports.com.
Week in and week out, teams will be gunning for the Packers hoping to get a taste of the “eventual champs.” Is that target too big for such a young team to handle? That remains to be seen.
The NFL banned substances policy has been acclaimed by some and criticized by others, but the policy is the longest running in American professional sports, beginning in 1987. The current policy of the NFL suspends players without pay who test positive for banned substances as it has since 1989 4 games for the first offense eight games for a second offense, and 12 months for a third offense. The suspended games may be either regular season games or playoff games. As the 2010 NFL regular season kicks into gear, many teams have expectations.
Chris Johnson,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if he comes close to what he did last season watch out; and let's show some love to the defensive players as well—if Darrelle Revis or Charles Woodson have similar seasons as they did a year ago, certainly they will be in the discussion.
Could you imagine what happens if the Packers don't bring the Lombardi Trophy back home? Or what if they don't make the trip the Dallas?
