Applications of Neuro Linguistic Programming

Even if you ask a psychologist, chances are he?d be hard press to clearly explain and define what Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP for short is. This article focuses on the fundamentals and basics of NLP to try to understand it more.
NLP is the use of dialogue and communication techniques to treat people. People have defined NLP as being the road map in controlling the brain. Neurology, Language and Programming make up the study of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
Neurology is all about how our mind or brain works in connection with the nervous system to send, receive and store signals that add up to information. Linguistic or language can be how a person communicates with another person, but more so is about verbal and non-verbal information that is processed by our body. Programming on the other hand is how all of this information is processed by our body and in return make up the experiences we store in our minds.
Curious and wanting to know how people who have achieved a lot in life was different from others, two scientists came up with Neuro Linguistic Programming with the premise that thoughts and behavior was the key to success. NLP cofounders Bandler and Grind discovered the body has a program similar to computers and that this could be reprogrammed. NLP shows that it is possible for anyone to recreate human excellence in anyone by simply tweaking a few thoughts and behavior patterns that sometimes undermine our ability to be the best we can possibly be.
Many of the problems people go to see a psychologist for can be quickly cured by Neuro Linguistic Programming. Things like alcohol or drinking problems, sex addiction, obsessive compulsive, phobias of any sorts. Those who get sad often and quickly for no reason at all, depressed individuals can also be treated by NLP.
Neuro Linguistic Programming, unlike other more traditional forms of psychotherapy, does not dwell in forcefully treating a patient?s mental or behavioral disorders. Clients are made aware of their senses, their thoughts, their behavior and the cause of the problem, most like a bad past experience. When a person is fully aware of the cause behind the effect can he follow it up by changing those goals him or herself.
In Neuro Linguistic Programming you will hear a lot about maps and modeling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as these two are used a lot in NLP. Modeling can be define as someone who adopts the processes and behaviors of another with the aim of recreating the results of the copied person. The process is not a failure if the outcome is as expected and more importantly, can be repeated time and time again.
Maps according to Neuro Linguistic Programming, is similar to the term paradigm, which basically means how an individual?s internal programming pictures the world to be. No one has the same two maps of the world, as everyone perceives the world differently one way or another. It has been said that people who are better off in life have better maps than those who don?t.
Neuro Linguistic Programming is a very useful trick in learning how to manipulate and change bad habits into good ones. NLP may seem hard to do, but for the most part it is very easy to do. NLP works and maybe now is the time you should let it work for you.
