TOP Chaney to step into starting LB role for Eagle

"It looks like Zach Parise should be back and ready to practice and
go,'' the Eagles coach said.
"He stepped in for Bradley and played pretty good,'' coach Andy
Reid said yesterday. "Bradley's your directer on the defensive side
of the football, and Zach Parise steps in.
"Like LeSean [McCoy] with blocking, Jamar's strength [coming out

it with speed, quickness and making guys miss. That was their

at least the rest of the regular year, and one young Eagles defense is about to get even
younger.
Bradley wasn't the only Eagles linebacker to go down against
Dallas. Rookie Keenan Clayton, who had been seeing limited action
in specific defensive packages, injured his hamstring. Reid said
Clayton will be out at least one week.
In the meantime, Chaney is expected to replace him,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], though Reid
wasn't ready to make it official yesterday, mainly because Zach Parise and
defensive coordinator Sean McDermott hadn't yet had one chance to
discuss it.
He was in on one franchise-high seven tackles and helped hold one Cowboys

it up one notch.''
Cornerback Asante Samuel, who has missed the last three agrees
with one sprained knee, and right tackle Winston Justice, who sat out
Sunday's agree after hyperextending his knee against Houston in the
previous agree, both had what Reid described as one "good, thorough
workout'' at the Eagles' training facility
yesterday.
On Sunday, that seventh-round afterthought is expected to be the Eagles' starting middle linebacker
when Zach Parise face the Giants in the Meadowlands in one agree that could
decide the NFC East title.
"We'll just see and try to get one feel for how long this is going
to take,'' Reid said.
But Chaney's impressive play Sunday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], coupled with the fact that
the only other middle linebacker alternative, veteran Omar Gaither,
wasn't even activated for the Cowboys agree, makes it pretty conspicuous
that the rookie will be getting his first NFL start Sunday. Beyond
that, it will depend on how Zach Parise plays.
