Jordan 5 Streaming Anime - Japanese Shows Online H |
|
For a long time anime fans had a dilemma. They wanted to watch the latest Japanese shows, but it could take years for an anime series to be released in North America, if it ever did. There have always been places for them to download or watch these series for free online, but because this was done without the consent of the creator or copyright holders anime fans who did this always walked on shady ground. Then there was the price--although North American DVDs are less expensive than their Japanese counterparts, collecting multiple anime series can get awfully pricey.
Shows of all types,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], from new American releases, anime fresh from Japan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or old classics, are available online through websites like Hulu and Anime News Network. This is entirely legal and, best of all, completely free.
Hulu is similar to Crunchy Roll, in that it does not distribute the anime series it hosts. The website still boasts a good selection of anime with new series like Samurai Champloo. Also, new episodes of anime like One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and House of Five Leaves are released on the website with English subtitles just days or even hours after the television release in Japan.
Well-known for their distribution of manga and anime, it is no surprise that VIZ Media would venture into the online market. On their VIZ Anime website, VIZ Media features series such as Nana, Death Note, and the ever popular Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. One of their most recent additions is Inu Yasha: The Final Act, in which the story of Inu Yasha, left unfinished in the original anime, is given a final conclusion.
Hulu: Spice and Wolf, Gurren Lagann
Most anime fans know of FUNimation Entertainment as the licensors and distributors of anime such as Dragon Ball Z and Fullmetal Alchemist. Now the company also runs a streaming video website, FUNimation Video. The website features anime owned by the company, available with both an English dub track and a Japanese track with English subtitles.
Crunchy Roll: Fairy Tail, Shugo Chara
Though Crunchy Roll started on the shady side of things, having been known for hosting videos posted by members of anime without the copyright holder's permission, the streaming video website has proved itself as a legitimate source of free,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], legal anime spanning all genres.
FUNimation Video: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, One Piece
Crunchy Roll hosts many shows that have already been published on DVD in North America, like ADV Film's series Chrono Crusade. However, this website also hosts many series that are otherwise airing only in Japan. This includes Hanamaru Kindergarten, Kaasan--Mom's Life and Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail. The company has also recently released an app for the Apple iPhone.
VIZ Anime: Naruto Shippuden, Nana,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Inu Yasha
Then something wonderful happened. Instead of fighting against the advent of free online streaming television, which many anime fans were using to post and watch anime episodes illegally, anime creators and distributors decided to embrace it.
The VIZ Anime website is currently in its beta stage, but promises more shows and special features for their fans.
