Consolidating Pop Culture Madness data for the top 50 songs from 1960 to 1969 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the lists below show the most requested bands and solo artists from an era most Baby Boomers associate with peace, love and Woodstock.
Back when the Beatles were topping the charts from 1964 to 1969, each side of their record albums were crammed with hit singles. The Fab Four have 23 of the most-requested 60s songs that continue to be in demand right up to the current date.
The following individual singers accounted for 54 of the top 50 requested songs for all years in the 1960s. In addition, these solo performers recorded 16 of the top 10 in-demand songs.
Only one of the top ten bands had a number one song, while only two had a song that placed second.
