Right Ingredients, Right Texture
Pizza Crust Recipe (makes 4 10-inch pizzas or 2 14-inch pizzas):
Prior to the advent of the home cooking fanaticism that has gripped the country, most families were content with ordering their favorite delivery pizza by phone and waiting an hour for the pie to arrive. Families on budgets have learned that cooking from home is easier and more affordable; making your own pizza is certainly no exception. The average pizza can be made in-house for around five to seven dollars, including the crust, cheese and all the toppings you can heap on. It can also be a healthier alternative to most brand pizzas: you get to choose the flour (white [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], all purpose or healthy whole grain), types of cheese (low-fat, skim) and hearty vegetables/meats that adorn the pizza.
Pan Perfect
Pizza crust is really just a type of bread and every recipe has different ingredients; this crust is no exception. Most pizza dough is made from all-purpose flour but using whole grain or wheat flour can substituted but will make your pizza more heavy and dense. Quick-rise yeast doesn’t have to be used (most of the rising happens in the oven) but it will help your crust “fluff” up.
Dump all the ingredients into a mixer and blend at a low speed for 4 minutes with a dough hook. Let the dough sit for 5 minutes to allow the yeast to proof and then turn the mixer back on for another 10 minutes. Pizza dough is stickier than regular bread dough but it should still pull off the side of the bowl.Let the dough sit for about 1 hour in a greased bowl in a nice warm place to rise. Punch the dough down and divide. Use your hands to spread the dough into the rough shape of your pizza (usually round or square). Put your sauce, cheese and toppings on and bake in your office on its highest setting before broil for about 10-15 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
