seems we are introduced to new ways of living green on a daily basis. Wal-Mart is trying to eliminate plastic bags and bottled water caps are shrinking to reduce plastic use. Then there are the green vehicles. Mercedes is keeping right up on that front.
Since stricter greenhouse gas emissions standards are now law, the auto industry will be working to produce greener and greener vehicles within the next 10 years. There may not be a magic formula to going green with our energy, but it will still be just that a formula [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not one specific act or product, but many things working together. Mercedes VA dealers are proud to be part of such a movement.
There are many buzzwords that spur the public imagination and have been touted as the best or even the only solution: plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles, power grids, charging stations, lithium-ion batteries. All of these can serve the goal of creating a sustainable future transportation system. However, the notion that we all will drive short-range battery electric vehicles is not a realistic one, explained Sascha Simon [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], manager of advanced product planning for Mercedes-Benz USA.
Fairfax Mercedes SLR-Class customers will be impressed with the way Mercedes-Benz is working on green solutions. Simon further stated that buyers demand larger vehicles that can go longer distances without needing to be charged. Mercedes is working to meet customer needs by investing in hydrogen electric technology. This will reduce the need for fossil fuels and still allow drivers the freedom they are accustomed to.
Mercedes-Benz has plans to add to its current line of BlueTEC clean diesel SUVs and hybrids with a line of hydrogen electric vehicles at the end of this year. Big news for Mercedes VA buyers! Its also great news for the environment.
Logistically, though this technology will not be used on a large scale [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], according to Simon. Eventually consumer interest should bring us to a point where our infrastructure will support a newer technology like hydrogen electric vehicles on a larger scale.
The road to zero emissions is not necessarily as long as most people think. The speed of progress depends on government climate change programs and carbon fuel supplies, but just as important is the customers willingness to adopt and embrace alternative fuel vehicles. We also need new and innovative thinking to increase the number of suppliers for these new technologies, Simon reminds us.
The more support Fairfax Mercedes SLR-Class customers and other buyers show for new technologies like hydrogen electrics, the sooner we will see them go mainstream and offer a green mode of travel that allows us to bring the entire family and drive the entire 200 miles to Grandmas without stopping to charge up.
